2017 is off to a good start. Celebrities are back with their drama and we are happy to share them with you. The latest culprit is ‘Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade’ also known as ‘Mr Eazi’ a.k.a ‘Zagadat’   The ‘Skintight’ crooner woke up this morning and decided that it was time to ‘piss off’ the wrong set of people. You don’t get to ‘shade’ Nigerians and go scot free.  He probably thought he was immune to attack being that he is ‘partly Nigerian’ (Nigerian born, Ghana based) and there is hardly any party or radio station in the country that doesn’t play his songs. Well, it is safe to say that following the backlash he received; he would never tow that path again. So what exactly did Mr Eazi do to deserve all the hilarious memes and insults on social media?

Mr Eazi posted a tweet today: “Ghana’s influence on present day Naija Sound cannot be over emphasized!!!” Really? In this time of Nigerian and Ghanaian ‘jollof wars’ which by the way, Nigeria has won, time without number… but I digress. What was going through Eazi’s mind when he clicked the post button? We are also just going to act like we didn’t see the three ‘exclamation marks’ after the tweet. Like, he couldn’t over emphasize his point enough

We are not going to get into the ‘nitty gritty’ of the validity of his statement, we will leave that to your better judgment.  So as expected, Nigerians were not going to take it ‘lying down’ and they unleashed their venom on social media. Some people even managed to rope Wizkid into the entire saga.  I guess Eazi wanted to entertain us as usual or just was not well informed by the ‘powers that be’ the repercussions of angering Nigerians.

Mr Eazi later posted another tweet apologizing to Nigerians: Just got a call, my fam in Imeko are doing family meeting to deport me to Ghana! Abeg my Naija people no vez” Nigerians have done it again, you ‘call them out’ they ‘take you out’

Now that all is well with the ‘Zagadat’ world again, what is your favorite Mr Eazi song?
